Fred is an unseen minor antagonist in Jesse Ridgway's life.
Biography
At the age of 8, Jesse was hit with tragedy when his foot sunk into hot asphalt while at a day on the beach and later passed out and was rushed to the hospital. At the time, before Poopy John, Boobs, and Black Boobs, there were 3 other family dogs including, but not limited to: Barney the Labrador Retriever, Betsy the old Beagle and Fred, a chesapeake bay Retriever.
When a fierce thunderstorm hit, Fred ran away and was not found for a long time. He was eventually found, but he was traumatized during his disappearance and was out of character. One day, when Jesse pets him in the butt, Fred became unstable and cornered Jesse to the point of mauling him in the face. This causes Jesse to be rushed to the hospital again. Fred was released from the house into a nearby dog cage (which now is abandoned), but realizes what he has done and regrets it after the mauling. Jesse describes this as the most traumatizing year of his life at age 8.
During Jesse's teenage years, Barney, Betsy & Fred passed away of natural causes.[1]
Trivia
- Fred could be considered the most vicious of all the villains, despite the fact that he is the only villain that isn't human.
- He is one of three known members of the Ridgway family to be deceased. The others were Betsy and Barney. Oddly enough, all the deceased known members of the family mentioned by Jesse are all domestic animals.
