Jeffrey Ridgway Sr. (Born November 17, 1963), mainly known as Jeff & Psycho Dad is the main antagonist during the first and third quarters of The "Psycho" series and the secondary antagonist for the second quarter of the series. Jeffrey Sr. can be considered the true main antagonist of the entire series due to his actions before and throughout the series that have caused tension and conflict between his two sons.
Jeffrey Sr. is Jesse & Jeffrey Ridgway Jr's father. Jeffrey Sr. is the former Director of Public Works for the County of Salem. Jeffrey is known to constantly argue with his son, Jesse about his video gaming and tells him to get a job. Later, as of the events of Psycho Dad Reacts to One Million Juggies, he has stopped telling him to get a job since he knows Jesse is making money and had a change of heart.
However, his truer intentions are revealed in SCARED STRAIGHT, where, according to Theresa, Jeffrey Sr. had secretly partnered with Jeffrey Jr. to teach Jesse a lesson during the events of Psycho Kid Gets Arrested, with Jeffrey Jr. serving as an instigator.
Jeffrey Sr. is also shown to be self-sensitive, as by backtalking to children and having to go to extreme lengths to destroy something in self-defense.
Jeffrey Sr. is also a target for manipulation, as when Jesse used him to dig a hole on which he was gonna soak his brother in with mud. Although not manipulated, he is used as a pawn to banish Jesse twice. It's likely a history of being lied to has caused him to harbor trust issues with his younger son.

In 1999, Jeffrey Sr. had a political career being the committeeman service in the Pittsgrove Township living up to the legacy of his father before stepping down on February 28, 2014. Jeff Sr.'s father Ted Ridgway had the career of a neighboring committeeman in Elmer for more than 20 years. Jeff Sr.'s political party was Democratic/Liberal. [1]
The "Psycho" Series
Becoming the Psycho Dad
On December 9, 2006, when his son Jesse Ridgway created a YouTube channel, his family showed support for the slowly growing account.
Six years later, on the verge of Christmas, Jeffrey Sr., with the help of his older son Jeffrey Ridgway Jr. managed to catch Jesse playing Xbox on his TV. In turn, he burned the Xbox in the fireplace and lashed at Jesse.[2]
On May 26, 2014, Jeffrey Sr. was shown the events of Psycho Dad Destroys Xbox on Jeffrey Jr.'s laptop by Jesse and in turn destroyed the laptop with a nearby axe. [3]
Jesse's Job Concern

On August 5, 2014, Jeffrey Sr. steals Jesse's video games from his room for Jesse playing them without getting out of his room and mows them over as Jesse screams in agony.
On September 2, 2014, Jeffrey Sr.'s TV was destroyed by Jesse after Jeffrey Jr. confiscated Buzz Simkins's Game Boy SP. The next few episodes, including Psycho Dad Drowns Xbox, Psycho Dad Wrecks Car, Psycho Dad Chainsaws Xbox One & Psycho Kid Ruins Thanksgiving are confrontations regarding Jesse's Job. More events start to take place, including Jeff Sr. shattering Jesse's 100,000 Subscriber Play Button.
Jesse's Exile
Unbeknownst to Jeff Sr., Jesse and Jeff Jr. were plotting a plan to get revenge by smashing his childhood trophies for smashing Jesse's 100,000 Subscriber Play Button. As the two put the plan in motion, Jeff Sr. takes full advantage as he uses his grill to burn Jesse's Wii U. As added punishment, Jeff Sr. banishes Jesse from The Ridgway Residence.
During the first week after Jesse's exile, Jeff Sr. proceeded to live normally while Jesse resided in Eagles Landing. Jesse would later go on to take his Easter lunch, ignoring Jeff Sr.'s orders to leave the house before returning back to the camping tent. After Jesse used up the family electricity, which he wasn't allowed to use due to the circumstances of his banishment, Jeff Sr. ran over Eagles Landing with a tractor, forcing Jesse to move to different locations, ultimately going to Jeff Sr.'s brother-in-law Larry Abraham. Meanwhile, Jeff Jr. plans his revenge on Jesse by paintballing The Abraham Household, but the prank backfires.
On May 1, 2015 - Jesse is kidnapped by Jeff Jr. back to The Ridgway Residence. Jeff Sr. at first does not approve of him being at his property and is forced to watch a video that prompts him to bring Jesse back in the house and smashing Jeff Jr.'s camera, under the condition that Jesse was gonna pay monthly rent - to which Jesse accepts.
Personality
Jeffrey is usually shown to be in an irritated mood in most videos. It could be that he (with the exception of most or some situations) hates being filmed as he has mentioned a few times. He also doesn't like to be called "Psycho Dad".
Generally speaking, Jeffrey is quick to anger especially when around Jesse. Jeffrey goes into fits of rage that usually include profanity and destruction of nearby items.

Jesse Ridgway
Jeffrey appears to have a very poor relationship and trust issues with his younger son Jesse. The main point of conflict is Jesse's dedication to gaming and video making which Jeffrey doesn't consider a real job. Jeffrey thinks Jesse is just being lazy and takes extreme steps to get him to stop playing video games by destroying his consoles. Their relationship seemed to reach a breaking point after the events of Psycho Dad Grills Wii U when Jesse was kicked out of the house for a month. After the events of Reacts to One Million Juggies , the two appear to have slightly mended their relationship but tensions still exist between the two. Jesse manipulated Jeffrey Sr. into digging a hole, which the former pranked Jeffrey Jr. into falling into. Jeffrey Sr. became very angry at Jesse and kicked down the door to his room and mercilessly knocked over all of his possessions, then kicked him out of the house. He allowed Jesse to come back to their house after the events of Psycho Last Supper, but that didn't mean their relationship was perfect. In Psycho Kid's Birthday Bash, Jeffrey did not want to buy Jesse a birthday present and upon seeing that Theresa had bought Jesse a Wii U, Jeffrey became furious and broke it, which will almost certainly do some damage to not only his relationship with him son, but also his wife. He has also installed cameras inside Jesse's rooms in the house to spy on Jesse.
Jeffrey Ridgway Jr.
Jeffrey appears to get along rather well with his older son Jeffrey Jr. It could be that because Jeffrey Jr. has a job and doesn't spend most of his time playing video games that Jeffrey Sr. treats him better. Jeffrey Sr. did show anger towards his older son though during the events of Raids Stream,Crashes WoW LAN Party,and Reacts to One Million Juggies. The two apparently made up soon after as they are seen tormenting Jesse together again in Psycho Dad Buries Video Games. Their relationship has most likely declined in the aftermath of Psycho Family Halloween. In PRISONER OF WAR! *PSYCHO UPDATE*, the true nature of their relationship is revealed as Jeffrey Sr. forced Jeffrey Jr. this whole time to do things he wanted him to do. Because of this, Jeffrey Sr. can be considered the true main antagonist of the Psycho series overall. Jeffrey Jr. also explains that the reason why he gets along with his father well is because he ''knows how to deal with him''.
Theresa Ridgway
Jeffrey and Theresa were married. While they once seemed to have a healthy, loving relationship, their relationship has visibly deteriorated over the course of the Psycho Series. Theresa does not approve of Jeffrey's aggressive tactics and she feels that he is a bad influence on their sons, especially Jesse. They have argued about Jeffrey's behavior in Psycho Dad Drowns Xbox, Psycho Dad Chainsaws Xbox One, Psycho Dad Grills Wii U, Psycho Family Therapy, Psycho Dad Launches Wii, and in Psycho Kid's Birthday Bash, Jeffrey becomes angry at Theresa for buying their son a Wii U and he destroys it, which in turn, makes Theresa angry enough to call him an idiot. As of Psycho Mom Divorces Husband, Jeffrey and Theresa are divorcing, as Theresa had reached her tolerance limit with Jeff's destructive behaviors.
Larry Abraham
Jeffrey had a good relationship with his brother in law Larry until Jesse moved in with him. When Jeffrey learned of this, he and Larry had a feud with each other as Jeff didn't want Jesse to stay at his house. The two eventually make peace during THE WEDDING CONFRONTATION!, although recently their friendship has been debatable as Larry claimed that their relationship is now irreparable.;
Trivia
- As of now and this moment, he and Jeffrey are the main antagonists of the Psycho series, this was due to the fact that they secretly teamed up against Jesse as Theresa revealed in the aftermath of Jesse's arrest. However, although Jeff destroyed nearly all of Jesse's possessions, Jeffrey is shown to have bigger plans than his father; which means that the revelation of the primary antagonist of The Psycho Series is yet to be known.
- Psycho Dad is similar to Angry Grandpa when he has anger issues, he destroys things even when Jesse doesn't listen to him.
- Many have advocated for the two to meet, often calling such a hypothetical video "Psycho Dad vs Angry Grandpa".
- He is almost always seen wearing a hat.
- He seems to favorite his oldest son Jeffrey Ridgway Jr. over Jesse.
- He also seems to believe that Jeffrey Ridgway Jr. is telling the truth like recently when Jeffrey smashed the last of Psycho Dad and Larry's trophies and blaming Jesse for them. This however changed when Jesse was allowed back in the house again after he showed him the video of Jeffrey Jr. smashing the trophies. However, he wasn't banished from the house, unlike Jesse.
- It has been implied in "Psycho Dad Reacts to One Million Juggies" that he favors his eldest son over Jesse, as despite the fact that Jeffrey Jr. destroyed what was left of his dad's trophies, Jeffrey Sr. only destroyed Jeffrey Jr's camera and continued to let him stay in the house for free.
- Furthermore, he lets Jesse back in the house under the condition that he pays rent and works for his father for free.
- But during Psycho Family Therapy, he said they both treated the same.
- During Psycho Family Therapy, he said that Jesse didn't have to work for him for free anymore.
- During Psycho Last Supper, a prime reason if Jesse had permission to return to the house (presumably he did have permission) was because of Jeff Jr.'s actions in BIGBRUDDA CONFRONTATION!.
- He's extremely concerned about Jesse playing video games and the pretense of 'learning' from video games, with particular concern for the perceived connection between gaming and Jesse's more extreme and destructive tendencies.
- He is the fourth most profane character in the series, using mild cuss words like "bullshit", "shit", "crap", "stinking" and so on. He has used the word "fuck" one time in before Jesse got arrested but it was hardly noticeable.
- Weirdly, the reason Jesse is into video games is that his dad played Super Mario Bros. which he let Jesse play. This is lampshaded by his mother who says, "You taught him how to play video games!". Jeffrey Sr. does not understand why his own moderate gaming history has provoked such a high addiction in his son.
- It is revealed that Jeffrey Sr. was a baseball prodigy as a kid having attained a great deal of trophies. Jesse later destroyed them, causing Jeffrey Sr. to exile him from the house. Jesse went on to learn a little about the nature of consequence - albeit a little late in life.
- It was also revealed that he was a Democrat in the Township Committee, following in the footsteps of his father, Ted Ridgway. He stepped down from the position of Deputy Mayor on March 7, 2012, several months before The "Psycho" videos started becoming popular . He is surprisingly tolerant of his previously unimpeachable civic reputation being shredded on YouTube.
- He does not have any social media accounts, although on YouTube, Twitter, etc, there are sometimes fakes who impersonate Psycho Dad, for example, https://twitter.com/TheJeffRidgway
- Just like Uncle Larry he is revealed to be an alcoholic during the trip in North Carolina. His choice of beer is Miller Lite and his favorite food is steak and garlic mashed potatoes.
- It was revealed by Uncle Larry that Jeffrey Sr. was not always an angry person, and that he used to be calm and easygoing.
- Its revealed in PREGNANCY PRANK! that he is pro-life when it comes to abortion as he insists that abortion is not an option to Jesse.
- Despite destroying many of Jesse's items and being a generally aggressive person, he has never been seen in a physical altercation with Jesse besides pushing him back on some occasions and carrying him away in Psycho Kid Torches Christmas Tree. This shows that he has standards, and would never commit assault.
- However, in Psycho Mom Divorces Husband, he physically pushes Jesse at the wall causing him to tremble and fall on his lamp, breaking it. Thus, this is the first time that Jeffrey Sr. commits assault.
- He does not appear to show much aggression if something is thrown at him. An example would be the desserts in Psycho Kid Ruins Thanksgiving, and the cake in Psycho Kid's Birthday Bash, where he barely reacts to it at all.
- He has never said "fuck" in Jesse's videos including the Psycho videos as well. He mostly says "stinking" from most of the time.
- It was revealed in PSYCHO FAMILY DILEMMA! that Jeffrey Sr. has always wanted a 1967 Pontiac GTO.
